new week routine, so that I knew what I was doing when I got to training. Then I took the Workout log with me to train. In addition four DVDs are also included with all the videos so that you may watch them in the comfort of your chair, on a large screen in high definition. This may be useful if you like to watch the next set of videos after your workout as you are recovering.
What is Six Pack Shortcuts Like?
The workouts build you up from beginner to Adonis through natural progressions, from general fitness, to building muscle size, to building muscle strength, superhero training (I made that up, but you do feel like one after it – gets you amazing strong and fit)and maintenance execises. Each exercise phase challenges you more than the last, and I noticed the results pretty quickly. You can go at your own pace, be that because you are a beginner and are building your fitness and strength, or because you are already relatively fit and want to push hard.
Most of the exercises are ones that you will have seen before but often have a subtle twist to them that makes them more challenging, and often more effective. One thing I really found was that as I progressed through the program, I found I could do more in my day to day life, was more agile, fitter and stronger. Like I had muscles where I did not previously imagine they could develop. I was surprised at how much more ‘able’ and agile I felt, as well as the obvious changes to my muscle size, shape and body fat percentage.
The Afterburner effect – in a nutshell this allows you to burn calories up to 48 hours after your workout, even when you are sleeping, watching TV or generally resting. I don’t recall in the whole program, having a workout that lasts longer than an hour, and most of them are around the 40 minute mark. That probably doesn’t seem like a lot of time, but trust me, you’ll be feeling
the pain by the end of the session and wishing it was shorter! These workouts are intense, but because they don’t take up much of your time, are something that you can continue to do and live a full life without having to cut back on other social activities for example.
One big benefit with this program is the most of it does not require you to go to a gym to do it. I have to admit that it would be easier, especially in the “Metabolic Power Training” phase simply because they have all the right equipment, and it’s easier to set it up, and quicker to get around. Having said that, there are alternative exercises that can be done, so that you don’t need to go near a gym if either your budget does not allow, or you do not want all the extra travel. The program even gives you exercises to do that do not require weights, however this will increase your training time, and may decrease the speed of your results, especially in the later stages.
The zero willpower eating system – very simple concept. The food is nice, and you certainly won’t go hungry. The big thing to point out here is that when you’re training you need to replace nutrients used up by your workouts. This often leaves you feeling constantly hungry as your body craves what it need to repair and rebuild. Either that happens, or you eat more than you need, and probably the wrong sorts of foods and at the wrong times to help you lose body fat. This eating system is simple, you never need to feel hungry, the food is enjoyable, and works to lift your metabolic rate, and above all you lose body fat without really feeling like you are ‘dieting’.
I have to admit when I started doing the program, I continued to eat as I had always done, and had a few beers on the weekends. This probably meant in the beginning that my fat loss was not as impressive as it should have been. As the program went on I could see the results, and this motivated me to follow the program fully.
